Terms of use
Read freely, quote fairly, link back.
Our journalism
The text, charts, tables and page design of The Nepal Standard are our copyright. Photographs belong to the photographers credited under each one and are used under the licence named there; reuse them on those terms, not ours.
Quoting and linking
You may quote short passages from our stories, with credit to The Nepal Standard and a link to the story. You may link to any page without asking. Republishing a whole story, or most of one, needs our written permission: write to [email protected].
Market data
The prices, indices, exchange rates and issue lists on our market pages are collected from the sources named on each page and shown as received. They can be late or wrong, and they are not investment advice. You may use and share our CSV downloads with credit to The Nepal Standard and to the original source; the original publishers’ own terms also apply to their figures.
Not advice
Our reporting explains what is happening in Nepali business. It is not financial, legal or investment advice. Check with a qualified adviser before you act on anything you read here.
Nominations for The Eight Thousanders
By sending a nomination you confirm that what you send is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you allow us to use it to assess and verify the nominee. Our editors alone decide the list. Nobody can pay to be nominated, listed or ranked.
Corrections and complaints
If we get something wrong we correct it and say so. See Corrections and our standards. Complaints go to [email protected].
Links to other sites
We link to other publishers’ sites, including in The Briefing. We are not responsible for what they publish.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and the courts of Kathmandu have jurisdiction. We may update them; the date below shows the latest version.
