Corrections and right of reply
We would rather be right than first. When we are wrong, we say so plainly.
How to report an error
Write to [email protected] with the link to the story, what is wrong, and where the correct information can be checked. We acknowledge every complaint within two working days and decide within seven.
What we do
- Factual errors are corrected in the article, with a dated note at the top saying what changed.
- Developing stories carry timestamped updates under “Latest updates”, so readers can see what we knew and when.
- We do not quietly delete stories. If a story cannot stand, we say why.
Right of reply
Anyone named in our reporting, a person or a company, can send a response to [email protected]. We publish relevant replies in full or in fair summary, normally within three working days, and note the date. Much of our reporting draws on published sources; where we have not contacted the people named, the story says so.
If you are not satisfied
You may complain to Press Council Nepal, normally within 35 days of publication.
Investigations and arrests
An arrest, investigation or charge is not a finding of guilt. We report the legal status as it stands and update stories when courts rule.
